Raleigh-Area Homebuilder To Donate Custom-Built
Home To Disabled Combat Veteran Through Local Nonprofit

RALEIGH, N.C. (January 25, 2017) – Royal Oaks Homes, LLC, an award-winning residential new homebuilder, celebrated the groundbreaking for Operation: Coming Home Hero Home XV on January 5- in their Sonoma Springs community in Fuquay-Varina. The 2,700 sq. ft., four bedroom home is scheduled to be completed by May.

This is the 8th home the company has provided for Operation: Coming Home, a nonprofit organization providing custom-built homes to disabled combat veterans. Royal Oaks Homes will be constructing a custom home for U.S. Marine Sgt. Brandon Temple, a Purple Heart recipient. Partners on the build include the U.S. Veterans Corps, Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County (HBA) and other local project supporters.

Sgt. Temple served in numerous deployments and has attended multiple advanced infantry schools. He sustained severe lacerations to his head, face and body and a traumatic brain injury when his vehicle hit an IED in Afghanistan. His injuries have long-term effects that will require ongoing treatment. He and his wife, Eloni, are looking forward to having the opportunity to settle down in a home of their own.

The groundbreaking ceremony in Fuquay-Varina was attended by the Temple family, board members of Operation: Coming Home, the mayor of Fuquay-Varina, his staff, as well as Royal Oaks Homes employees.

“We are honored and humbled to continue our commitment to supporting Operation: Coming Home, a project that is near and dear to our hearts at Royal Oaks Homes,” said Rich Van Tassel, president of Royal Oaks Homes. “This is our way of saying thank you to Sgt. Temple for his service to our country, and we look forward to having his home ready for him by May.”
