Apex Makes #1 As Best Places To Live In 2015!

Categories: Apex, Bella Casa Parkside, New Homes in Raleigh, The Trace II | Posted: August 18, 2015

In an article on Time.com this week, they ranked the 50 best small cities in the country, to see what the best places to live in 2015 are. Cities were chosen with the consideration of: great jobs, strong economies, affordable homes, excellent schools, and that special something that makes it a great place to live. None other than our very own local city of Apex, NC made it to #1 on this national list. If you’re in the market for new homes in Raleigh, consider choosing a home in one of Royal Oaks beautiful communities located in Apex, like Bella Casa Parkside and The Trace II.

According to Time, Apex has all the things you would expect the number 1 city to have. Apex has a charming downtown, top-notch schools, and a great sense of community. So much so, that it draws 15,000 people (and more than a third of the population) to the annual PeakFest street fair.

Apex also has something else that makes it extremely promising, high paying tech-industry jobs that make the quality of life second to none. Unlike the West Coast, which is also a technology hub, the cost of living is affordable in Apex. So much so, that a three bedroom house in Apex will run you about $265,000, while a similar house in Silicon Valley would run you more than $1 million.

The Apex local job market is powered by the 7,000-acre Research Triangle Park that is 18 miles away. More than 200 companies, including IBM, Cisco, and pharma giant GlaxcoSmithKline, have offices that employ about 50,000 workers.

Apex is among the states best in North Carolina for schools and Apex High School offers the Academy of Information Technology, a four year program that exposes students to the IT field through coursework and internships.

Apex has seen its population double since 2000. The growth has brought cosmetic changes to the city, to adapt to its growth including a new toll road that cut the commute time to the Research Triangle in half to only 20 minutes.

Although the city of Apex is growing, residents appreciate how it continues to keep its close-knit vibe, making it a great place to raise a family.
